Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula. Adding, that I would do well in that field due to my caring nature. After more research, I began seeing the need for this service and fell in love with this industry. From the perspective of a mother, I have recognized the importance of the parent's mental and physical well-being. As a result, I have recently completed postpartum doula and lactation consultant training. While preparing for the international lactation examination, I continue to serve in each of these areas and feel passionate about supporting families transitioning from neonatal intensive care (NICU) to home. The exhaustion and emotional and physical trauma of parents at this stage is profound. My training in these areas allows me to weave these skills to support parents and newborns of all levels of need as a single provider. Embracing families from birth through early childhood with ease and compassion is my passion.
