2 years of experienceHello! My name is Valerie, but most people call me Val. I am a licensed Registered Nurse located Northeast of Austin, TX. I initially obtained my license in the state of California, but endorsed it to Texas once I moved. I have always been fascinated with birth and the women’s body. Labor & Delivery was my favorite clinical throughout nursing school, however the pandemic hit right when I was in the middle of school and that affected how I wanted to move forward in my career. It wasn’t until after giving birth myself, along with having a traumatic labor and delivery that I was 100% certain this was the area of work that truly felt most passionate about and is right for me. I am focused on gaining more experience at the bedside during birth and to continue learning from mentors. I am confident with the right circumstances, environment and support that birth can be one of the most beautiful and powerful things you’ll get to experience and I would love nothing more than to be apart of that. During my free time I enjoy playing with my 18 month old, soon I’ll be chasing around 2 boys come January, making sourdough bread, and spending quality time with my husband.
