I am a mother to 5 beautiful daughters, and a “Mimi” to the most precious grand baby I had the honor of “catching” at home. Born and raised in San Diego, CA and before moving to Dallas in 2019 I lived in Joshua Tree for 12 years. I moved to Waxahachie for a few years but knew my heart belonged back in Old East Dallas. When not at a birth I'm spending time with my family, sleeping in, teaching student midwives and researching everything birth with my midwife partner Elizabeth! Sundays are my favorite attending services at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, finding a new brunch spot with my family and strolling the Dallas farmers market! I love traveling anywhere with a tropical beach and taking cruises to the Caribbean. I am continuously humbled as midwife, every client teaches me something new. Midwifery care to me has always been about a trusting relationship and shared decision making. My clients trust my recommendations based off evidence and experience. I trust their decisions, even when different than mine. This is their body, their baby and their birthing experience. I love getting to know not just them but their family and even their parenting styles, it’s so much more than birth. As midwives we all love when Dad or even an older sibling wants to help catch but honestly my favorite is when my client catches her baby. Absolutely magical! I am often asked how many births I have attended. I stopped counting at 700!

The wellness center was founded by Cheryl Edinbyrd, PhD, LPC, LCDC, CYT, LMT, Health & Fitness Coach and Licensed Midwife. Dr. Edinbyrd has been counseling individuals, couples and families since 2010 and providing midwifery care since 2017. During this time, she has collaborated with other therapists, healthcare providers and treatment facilities to understand the needs within the community. She has also obtained certification as a yoga, massage therapist as well as a health and fitness coach to include more of a holistic approach to working with clients.

With nearly a decade of experience serving women in the DFW area, BirthPointe stands as a premier women’s health and birth center. Our facility features three exquisitely designed birth suites, and our dedicated certified nurse midwives are here to provide compassionate care. Additionally, we offer monthly educational classes to support and empower women throughout their journey. Traci Santangelo MSN APRN CNM: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and started my career working in a local Labor & Delivery Unit. I then married a Yankee (don’t hold it against me), and he moved me to Detroit, Michigan, then to Miami, Florida, and finally to Chicago, Illinois—all for his exciting career. It was at the University of Illinois at Chicago that I received my Master’s in Nursing with a Midwifery designation and developed a deep desire to move back to the Lone Star State. I was tired of being cold! During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. Why wouldn’t you want to know everything about your baby?! I never tire of it. And I never tire of a woman’s need to feel validated, heard, and respected. You deserve that—you are a woman, for goodness’ sake! It is my great pleasure to serve women such as yourself at this time in your life. I want to give you the very best care I can provide, and I would be honored for the opportunity. Theresa Stryk MSN, APRN, CNM: Theresa grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to Texas to pursue her Biology degree at the University of Dallas, where she also played volleyball. She received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University and worked in Labor & Delivery at Parkland before getting her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University and becoming a CNM. She is married to her wonderful husband, Logan, and they have two daughters, Julie and Helen. Theresa has had the privilege of previously working in a NaProTechnology office, where she gained valuable insights into the remarkable benefits of Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs) for so many women. Through her experience, she has seen how these methods empower women to understand and manage their reproductive health. At BirthPointe, Theresa is dedicated to continuing her mission of educating others about FABMs, promoting awareness, and supporting women in making informed choices about their fertility.

Hello everyone, my name is Trisha. I live in Fort Worth, TX and I serve Fort Worth and Dallas. I recently moved here from New Jersey with my husband, 5 kids, cat and dog and I love it here! I have always wanted to be in birthwork, since I had my first child at 18, but never knew where I would fit in. A few years ago I learned what a doula was and knew that that was where I belong. I love all things pregnancy and childbirth and love to learn more about it. I have worked in restaurants my whole life so I am very good at multi tasking and thinking on my feet and solving problems. I am a newer doula, however I have been helping friends, co workers and family forever with childbirth. I love to be there to help during the most amazing time of everyone's lives and know what a privilege it is to be involved in such a emotional and private time. In my free time I love exploring my new home with my kids and finding new places to see! Family is everything so I love to spend all free time with them.
