Hello, I am a certified postpartum doula. I have worked with babies/children since I was 13. I babysat and nannied throughout my teenage years. In college I worked at numerous daycare facilities (newborn-preschool). I earned my bachelors degree from the University of North Texas in early childhood education. I taught for 5 years in 2nd grade and in PE. In 2008 we welcomed our first (of six) baby. I now have 5 boys and a daughter that I homeschool. My youngest is now six and I miss the newborn season!! I recently got my certification to be a nighttime postpartum doula. My goal is to support the new momma (and family) and help them to enjoy and cherish this quick season of having a new baby. During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. My name is Jordan Towns and I have served the role as an Emotional Support Coach/Companion for over two decades to women and men encountering a full range of life encounters. It was in Spring 2023 that my journey to become a Doula was initiated and what a journey indeed it has been. I have a great love of serving and caring for new mamas and their newborns. It's a passion I've had since a teenager. My first postpartum client was when I was 18 yrs old - before the word doula was ever known. I have 40yrs of experience working with newborns, new parents, as an educator, postpartum doula, nanny, lactation educator, and newborn care specialist. I have worked in the 3rd largest hospital in the country within the maternity unit as a nurse assistant/patient tech. I also sleep condition and train babies to sleep well at night as long as the parents follow through with instructions when I am not there. Baby can sleep between 10-12hr straight.
