As your doula you will receive warm and personal care for your needs as you transition through your pregnancy. The focus will be about nutrition, exercise, self care, lactation, and plans for a safe and healthy post pregnancy recovery. As your postpartum doula, meal preparation, light housework, shopping, and caring for your baby will be provided to enable you to rest and recover. I am a retired RN for L&D/pediatric newborns. I have 8 adult children, 16 grandchildren, and two dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, singing in my church choir, and traveling with family.

If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, I might be the doula for you if you want support without an agenda. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I have always been fascinated and humbled by the birthing process since working at a Maternity Hospital in Nepal many years ago, when I was a medical student in the UK. It revealed to me how essential compassionate support is during this rite of passage. My passion for women's health and childbirth has never waned, and I come with a deep knowledge of the process from working as a family doctor in the UK, then birthing and bringing up my own three children here in the US. I have worked as a baby nurse for over 25 years and I enjoy helping new parents make the transition into parenthood, by teaching them how to care for the new addition to their family. I have the knowledge and training needed to educate new parents on how to care for their newborn by teaching them how to feed, bath and put babies down for naptime. I can help parents organize the nursery to make things more convenient and easier to handle. I am highly trained to take care of twins or even triplets, so parents with multiple newborns are not so overwhelmed and stressed. I am a Licensed Midwife (LM) with the Medical Board of California and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) with the North American Registry of Midwives. I carry certifications in neonatal resuscitation, CPR, and Basic Life Support (BLS) and have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families on their birthing journey's.
