Julia is looking for Birth Doula

Location: San Antonio, TX 78238, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: January 22, 2026
I plan to give birth in a hospital it is my first baby and I don’t have as much knowledge as I would like to at 23 years old. I really want to plan for an all natural unmediated birth C sections and Epidurals are very scary to me and again I don’t have much knowledge to go off of besides others stories but I don’t know how my story will look like. As much as i appreciate the work for Doulas and your work is so much help for a new mom I’m really looking for something as affordable as I can possibly do my husband and I currently work full time but I plan to go strictly stay at home once baby is born for a few months because my work doesn’t provide maternity leave for me so we have been on big budget saving mode to prepare for that time. Like earlier I want to naturally prepare my body as mentally and physically to attempt a vaginal birth unmedicated I have a great support system and I’ve had this mentality for a long time. I’m having a girl and would like to do all of the recommend cord clamping, no first bath or wiping down baby, immediate skin to skin with dad and myself and when cord is turned white dad will be the one to cut it. No pictocin or epidural or extra narcotics (Tylenol, pain meds, etc),I want to be able to move around freely in my room as well as try multiple birthing positions I don’t want to only birth on my back my ideal position is a squat or on hands and knees. No eye ointment, vitamin K shot or Hep B vaccine, I would like to deliver my placenta naturally and save it as well. Once baby girl is born I never want her to leave the room and if she has to my husband needs to be by her and or nurses side the entire time as well as having limited staff handle the baby. I want to let my water break on its own and be able to shower freely whenever I want to. |

I need a midwife that is CNM certified so that Tricare will cover it. Unfortunately we cannot afford a midwife on our own and need to walk through what our insurance will cover. We don't know our situation yet as far as a home birth or needing a midwife to meet us at a nearby hospital when the time comes so we would love someone able to do either one. One big factor in desiring a midwife is to have the personal care and time of the same provider at each baby appointment and to be able to reach out to that midwife at anytime if I have questions or concerns along the way in pregnancy. |
