I have attended many different types of births, including hospital, home and birthing center births. I also offer in person and virtual child birth education and preparation. I was born and raised in Verona, Italy, where, starting at an early age, my studies of ballet, theater, and contemporary dance whet my appetite for visual beauty. After the birth of my second child, I discovered my true passion and started as a birth doula within the Los Angeles birth community. I’m a wife and mom and I’ve been a photographer for 20+ years. Photographing newborns and families as they grow is truly my happy place. I feel that all my life experience has led me to this work and it’s incredibly satisfying. I am passionate about capturing those moments before they fly by. Because they go by so quickly! As a mother of 3 I totally get it. Family life is busy and we need things to be as low key and efficient as possible. I try to make your time in front of my camera LOW STRESS - and hopefully we can have some fun along the way! I like to let the siblings enjoy themselves and feel included in this special time. I like to get the newbies all milk drunk and sleepy so we can stare at them in awe. Mostly, I like to get everyone - young and old - to connect and laugh and remember the real reasons we get up and do this thing called life. I have photographed hundreds of growing families and it never once gets old. I’ll never lose the awe and the wonder at this beautiful... and sometimes difficult... and definitely transformational journey of self discovery that is parenthood.

My journey as a labor doula began in 2021, driven by a deep passion for supporting families during one of life’s most transformative moments. My background includes working as a Floortime therapist for children with ASD, serving as an after-school program director, and capturing magical memories as a photographer at Disneyland. Yet, nothing compares to the profound joy of hearing a baby's heartbeat on a monitor and then witnessing their first cries as they enter the world. Alaina Nunez is a Certified Professional Birth Photographer and Videographer in Southern California as well as a birth doula, perinatal nutrition expert, Certified Lactation Educator Specialist and Certified Photography Trainer. She documents birth stories with her sense of calm and unique observational perspective. Her images are said to be editorial, intimate, and “in the moment”. She focuses on documenting the environment and emotions and notices and captures the little details that would otherwise go un-noticed and be forgotten. She is a second generation homeschooling mama of 7, which gives her the skill set to be flexible within a variety of situations and think quickly on her feet while seeing the beauty in the mess mess and chaos. She started attending births as a birth photographer in 2013 after the birth of her 4th child and supporting families as a doula in 2020 after the birth of her 6th child. Alaina is a Christian and opening shares about her faith and how she brings the Lord into the birth space. She says it would be impossible to not bring God into such vulnerable moments and prays for and over her clients throughout pregnancy and birth. She gives credit to God for her business and the gift of being able to support families while also documenting their birth journeys. She believes documentation is an important aspect of not just preserving stories but legacies and testimonies.

Hi! My name is Madelyn, and I am becoming a Certified Full Spectrum Doula. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in becoming a birth worker. I work as a nanny and have loved the career I have established for myself, but am ready to move forward in providing care to mamas and newborns during the prenatal, labor, and postpartum stages. I recently got to experience this with one of my nanny families which ultimately encouraged me to pursue this career professionally. The experience in caring for a postpartum mother to twins has really provided me with knowledge in doing the same for many others.
