In 2005, I was certified as a doula through Loving Arms Doula Services of Eureka, Ca. in conjunction with a grant through Shasta First Five. Birthing From Within was a very integral part of their philosophy and has continued to be a part of mine as well. I had the opportunity to support the underserved population in my county, empowering new young mothers to birth themselves as much as the life growing within them. As a bodyworker, my training in Perinatal massage, Craniosacral therapy and Somatoemotional release has been a lovely fusion with my doula and birth mentor training of wholistic empowering care for birthing individuals that I have had the honor to support along the way. As a sound healing practitioner, self awareness through the voice and sound is incorporated into my support offerings as well. I have brought all this into my birth journey workshops for the perinatal year. My goals as a mentor is to support by staying present, heart centered and explore the boundless possibilities that come with the journey of birth.

She is certified through Childbirth International as a labor and postpartum doula, trained with Hypnobabies® as a childbirth hypnosis doula, and is an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor. She has also completed Prevention of Birth Trauma Levels 1 and 2 training through the Birth and Trauma Support Center. She has a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and became passionate about birth over the course of giving birth to her six children. I first found Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis when I was pregnant with my first baby and working as a bedside nurse in a busy hospital postpartum unit. I knew my body was meant to give birth, but I felt the negativity and fear of those around me was preventing me from enjoying this transformative time in my life. Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis gave me back my joy and even more. It gave me a confidence and excitement about birth that I didn't even know was possible. I went on to become a board certified lactation consultant and certified maternal newborn nurse and also attended many births as an L&D nurse. 11 years and 2 Hypnobabies of my own later, I am so happy to share this complete childbirth education class with my community and bring joy and love into the lives of birthing families.
